Tree Houses

imageThere once was a mom and dad who had a son.  The son jumped out of the window whenever it was a nighttime. And then, the actual sun jumped through the same window in the nighttime.  Meanwhile, the actual sun was in the boy's room. And the boy jumped onto a tree's branch.  And then he saw a wooden house.  He opened the door knob.  Catch some more on the next chapter of tree house.

Cool Learning Website

We found some fun online learning games here. Brian learned that singular means 1 of something and plural means more than one of something. Very cute characters  in  these simple  games.

The Happy Monster and the Happy Boy

image

There was a happy monster and a happy monster boy.  They wanted to go on a trip whenever their mom said they couldn't.  Only at night, they secretly went on a trip on their own.  They went into the forest and then they ate all the trees. Then the foxes were so cold,  they went after them.  But they got out of the forest too soon that the foxes couldn't be able to get them.  The End.

A Couple of Big Turkeys :)

079Brian made this beautiful turkey to decorate our Thanksgiving table out of a Pringles can. Keith said he made a Pilgrim and Native American out of cans as a child. I looked for a template online and could not find one, but I found this site that offered a cute turkey template. Brian is getting very good with cutting on the line and he even cut all of the cuts on the side of each feather! He had a blast doing this!

Science Center Trip

046 We were in St. Louis for an eye appointment, so we took the opportunity to go to the the St. Louis Science Center for the day. We hadn't been there for a while. It was a beautiful day and we were able to play and learn outside as well as inside. We got to see two science shows. One of the shows was the Science of "Peeps" (the marshmallow candy). They did a lot of different things to the peeps and compared the end result to the control peep. The boys were amazed at what the liquid nitrogen did to the peep and then they got to feel the floor after the instructor poured some on the floor. Dry and cold...very unexpected.

St. Louis Zoo...Free, Hands-On Education!

The boys and I went to the zoo this afternoon and had a terrific time, as always.  I cannot speak high enough praise for the St. Louis Zoo.  We focused on insects, primates, apes, and reptiles on this trip.  zoo 002The boys on a sculpture outside of the Insectarium.
